Nebraska will return to the Capital One Bowl for the second consecutive season, and will take on the Georgia Bulldogs. The Capital One Bowl will kick off at 1 p.m. ET (Noon CT) with national television coverage on ABC.
The Huskers will enter the game with a 10-3 record, following a Big Ten Championship game loss to Wisconsin on Saturday night. Nebraska has won nine or more games each of the past five seasons, one of only four schools in the country to win at least nine games each of the past five seasons. Nebraska is ranked 23rd in the Associated Press Poll and 21st in the USA Today Coaches poll heading into the contest.
Georgia comes into the Capital One Bowl with an 11-2 record, after a 32-28 loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game. The Bulldogs, who captured the SEC Eastern Division crown, will head to Orlando ranked fifth in the coaches poll and No. 6 according to the Associated Press. Head Coach Mark Richt is in his 12th season as Georgia’s head coach.
The matchup between Nebraska and Georgia will be just the second all-time between the two schools. The first meeting occurred in the 1969 Sun Bowl when Nebraska defeated Georgia, 45-6, in El Paso.
