Since the end of the season, we’ve been looking at finding a new location for the Tampa Bay Huskers to call home. Our board has been actively looking at finding the best possible location to call home. We’re very grateful to the folks at Champions for their help and service over the years, and we look forward to finding another partner for the future.

This Saturday, April 6th 2013 at 3:00 PM ET, the Huskers kick off their annual Red-White Spring Game. We’ll be downtown once again at Champions located inside the Marriott Waterside in downtown Tampa, to see all the new faces on the roster and catch a glimpse of the 2013 team. Come down and reconnect with friends and have a great time. As always, valet parking is free (bring us your parking ticket to get it stamped) and we’ll have food and drink specials.
Nebraska and the Big Ten Network have announced that the Huskers’ spring game on Saturday, April 6 will be televised live by the network. Kickoff for the contest is set for 3 p.m. ET at Memorial Stadium.
BTN2Go will also provide live coverage of the spring football game. BTN’s spring football coverage includes the Big Ten Football Report every Wednesday and Saturday nights beginning April 10.
This year marks the first time BTN will televise Nebraska’s spring game live on the network. Last year’s game was scheduled for a same-day tape-delay telecast, but the contest was canceled because of weather.
Nebraska will return to the Capital One Bowl for the second consecutive season, and will take on the Georgia Bulldogs. The Capital One Bowl will kick off at 1 p.m. ET (Noon CT) with national television coverage on ABC.
The Huskers will enter the game with a 10-3 record, following a Big Ten Championship game loss to Wisconsin on Saturday night. Nebraska has won nine or more games each of the past five seasons, one of only four schools in the country to win at least nine games each of the past five seasons. Nebraska is ranked 23rd in the Associated Press Poll and 21st in the USA Today Coaches poll heading into the contest.
Georgia comes into the Capital One Bowl with an 11-2 record, after a 32-28 loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game. The Bulldogs, who captured the SEC Eastern Division crown, will head to Orlando ranked fifth in the coaches poll and No. 6 according to the Associated Press. Head Coach Mark Richt is in his 12th season as Georgia’s head coach.
The matchup between Nebraska and Georgia will be just the second all-time between the two schools. The first meeting occurred in the 1969 Sun Bowl when Nebraska defeated Georgia, 45-6, in El Paso.
Tampa, Fla. - Jordan Hooper and Lindsey Moore each produced 20-point games to lead the Nebraska women’s basketball team to a 62-52 road win over previously unbeaten South Florida at the Sun Dome on Sunday.
With the victory, Nebraska improved to 8-3 while notching its second straight win over an unbeaten Florida school. The Huskers extended their winning streak against Florida schools to 13 straight games, including series sweeps of Miami, Florida State, Florida and South Florida in recent years. USF slipped to 8-1 on the season.
